Since March 2019, more than 37,000 people have followed my views on LinkedIn every day, for a total of around 11,500 views per post. My audience is mostly freelancers and business owners.
With a master’s degree in Applied Literature for Professional Writing (bac +5), I went straight into freelancing as a web copywriter. To find my first clients, I naturally turned to LinkedIn. After 4 months of regular content creation, I received my first requests, and they kept growing month after month, to the point where I now get 1 a day. Today, I’m proud to have built an engaged community that lets me make a living from my passion: writing. And to do it as a freelancer, a status I wouldn’t change for anything in the world.
As a content marketing expert, I share my knowledge of web copywriting (from writing in general to more specific techniques for blog articles, newsletters, white papers, LinkedIn posts...).I also like to share my daily life as a freelancer, my wins, my doubts and my failures too, through storytelling. So people follow me for advice and tips, and also for inspiration.
On LinkedIn, I usually post 2 times a week (Tuesday and Thursday). Most of my content is plain text (which makes sense given my job), but I also like to share photos of my successes or discoveries, as well as carousels. Finally, I think polls create a real connection with the audience, if they are used wisely and sparingly.
In everything I post, I try to be as authentic and caring as possible, with a touch of lightness. I think that’s what my audience likes. Who said you had to be (too) serious on LinkedIn?
I truly believe that in life, anything is possible for those who give themselves the means. So let’s dare to dream big!
