Discover the new challenges around buyers, AI and performance measurement.
Your brief is signed off, and so is your message. All that’s left is to choose an expert to share it.
That is exactly where many B2B influence strategies miss the point.
An expert shouldn’t just step in to broadcast a message that’s already written. They should help build it, enrich it and bring the proof that moves the decision forward.
We explore this shift in our B2B Influence 2027 ebook, available in French for now. Here are four questions to start challenging the way you work.
What you’ll find in this article
- Does your expert come in before or after the brief?
- Have your buyers already judged you without you?
- What are your B2B influence metrics really worth?
- And on your side, where are things getting stuck?

Does your expert come in before or after the brief?
Sign off a message, choose a creator, buy a post: the pattern is familiar. The expert arrives at the end, when almost everything has been decided.
Yet a good partner knows which questions deserve an answer, which arguments raise eyebrows, and sometimes that the planned format is the wrong one.
So the real question isn’t "who?" but "when?". At what point does the expert join the project, and what can they actually decide?
To see what difference it makes, read the Harmonie Mutuelle × Vincent Hagenbourger case study.
Have your buyers already judged you without you?
Your buyer doesn’t wait for your campaign to form an opinion. By the time the brand joins the conversation, it has often already started.
And more and more, that conversation happens in AI answers. According to Muck Rack’s What Is AI Reading? study (May 2026, more than 25 million links), 84% of the links cited by ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini are earned media, against 0.3% for paid or advertorial content.

A caveat: the study mostly covers unbranded, top-of-funnel queries.
So where is your brand’s influence really playing out? For a wider view, read our analysis of going "Beyond LinkedIn" and our article on expert long-form content.
What are your B2B influence metrics really worth?
A like is a reaction. It doesn’t tell you whether the person understood your offer, trusts you or is preparing to buy.
Before you report a single KPI, there’s one question to settle: are you mainly after awareness or leads?
To choose based on your goal, see our guide to LinkedIn formats and B2B KPIs.
And on your side, where are things getting stuck?
To find out, our 2027 ebook ends with a self-assessment: 10 questions, a score out of 20 and an action plan based on your result.
